NORTH STAR — Alvin Spraley, of North Star, will celebrate his 90th birthday, Dec. 30, 2015.

He was born Dec. 30, 1925.

Spraley graduated from Versailles High School in 1944 and was in the armed services during World War II. He made a career in engineering and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

He has served his community as policeman, firefighter, surveyor and mayor.
