Foster marks 90 years

SIDNEY — Dorothy Jane Foster, of Sidney, celebrated her 90th birthday, June 3, 2015, at a luncheon hosted by Darla Cabe in the Amos Community Center of Dorothy Love Retirement Center.

Foster was born Dec. 3, 1925, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to Gladys and Marion Foster, who are deceased.

She graduated from Bowling Green State University and earned a master’s degree from Michigan State University.

She was a home economics teacher and a supervisor and state Future Homemakers of America adviser in the Ohio State Department of Education.

Darla and her daughter, McKenna, and Ruth Chrisman performed music for 60 guests, including some of Foster’s former students, whom she had taught in 1951, and a friend who had attended kindergarten with Foster 85 years ago.
