Doak to celebrate 90 years

SIDNEY — Marilyn Doak will celebrate her 90th birthday at an open house, Feb. 4, 2018, in the Jackson Towers, 333 North St.

Doak was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Sidney, to Isabel and Clarence Holly, who are now deceased.She married Richard Doak, June 14, 1947, and he is now deceased.

She has a living sister, Marguerite Davey, of Troy. Three other sisters, Dorothy Althaus, Charla Doak and Amy Bemus, and a brother, William Holly, are deceased. She has three living daughters, Pamela Doak and Elizabeth Hamm, both of Sidney, and Rita Gepfrey, of Anna, and two sons, Paul Doak, of Piqua, and Matthew L. Doak, of Bauxite, Arkansas. Another daughter, Nancy Willoughby, is deceased. She has 12 living granchildren and two great-grandchildren. Three other grandsons are deceased.

Doak worked at Stolle Corp. and Leader Sportswear. She and her husband owned Doak’s Aquarium and Pet Store in Sidney and a furniture store in Quincy.

She is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and attended Christian Tabernacle, both in Sidney, and enjoys playing bingo, crocheting, reading and watching movies.
