Monnin-Holscher becomes centennarian

COLDWATER — Frances Monnin-Holscher, of Coldwater, will celebrate her 100th birthday, March 3, 2018, at an open house in the Gathering Place at Briarwood in Coldwater.

This “Cheers for 100 Years” celebration will take place from 2 to 4 p.m.

Monnin-Holscher was born March 4, 1918, the daughter of Charles and Mary K (Chappie) George, in a log cabin near North Star. She was one 14 children. She married Thomas Monnin, April 20, 1940. He was killed, April 12, 1950. She married Leo Holscher, Nov. 10, 1962. He passed away, Oct. 22, 1982.

She has three daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Rolly Hausfeld, of Minster, Linda and Paul Stelzer, of Greenville, and Lisa Holscher and Mark Tibbs, of Dayton; and a living son and daughter-in law, Lester and Norma Monnin, of Versailles. Another son, Larry Joe Monnin, is deceased. She has 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grand children and two great-great-grandchildren.

Monnin-Holscher is a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Ladies Sodality and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Osgood.
