FORT LORAMIE — Kristi and Ryan Schulze, of Fort Loramie, have announced the birth of a son, Derek Joel Schulze, born Feb. 4, 2016, at 5:05 p.m., in the Copeland-Emerson Family Birth Center at Wilson Health in Sidney.

He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces, and was 21 3/4 inches long.

He was welcomed home by his brothers, Adam 4, Tyler, 2, and Zack, 1.

His maternal grandparents are Candy and Frank Platfoot, of Jackson Center. His paternal grandparents are Victoria and Ronald Schulze, of Fort Loramie.

His great-grandparents are JoAnn and Ralph Shroyer, of Kettlersville, and Margaret Hilgefort, of Newport.

His mother is the former Kristi Platfoot.
