SIDNEY — Anne Schmiesing, of Sidney, and Randal Otte, of Maria Stein, have announced their engagement and plans to marry, Jan. 2, 2016, in the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mary and Harold Schmiesing, of Sidney. She graduated from Lehman High School and from Franciscan University of Steubenville, where she earned a Bachlor of Arts in English writing. She is employed as a substitute teacher.

Her fiance is the son of Kathleen and Charles Otte, of Maria Stein. He is a Marion Local High School graduate and earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural engineering from the Ohio State University. He is employed as a farmer.
