Weigandt, Fischer exchange vows

WAYNESVILLE—Brittany Nicole Weigandt, of Waynesville, and Peter Austin Fischer, of Oahu, Hawaii, were united in marriage, Sept. 24, 2019, at 4:30 p.m., at the University of Dayton’s Marriot Hotel in Dayton.

The bride is the daughter of Amy Short, of Piqua, and Joshua Weigandt, of Waynesville. The bridegroom is the son of Mary Jean and Col. Paul Fischer, of Lakewood, Washington.

Grandparents of the bride are Joseph and Sarah Weigandt, of Springfield, and Douglas and Linda Short, of Sidney. Grandparents of the bridegroom are Mary Lee and the late Ian Sammis, of Novato, Calif0rnia, and Hans and Adele Fischer, of Gualala, California.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Anna Bunting served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Heather Rushing, Bronwyn Jones, Sara Rohrer, Samantha Fischer and Ty Burd.

Michael Dickey was the best man.

A reception was held at the hotel following the ceremony. The couple will reside in Germany, where Peter is stationed in the United States Air Force. They met on a blind date in 2015.

The bride is a graduate of Waynesville High School and Miami University in Oxford, where she earned a Bachelors degree in Communications.

The bridegroom is a graduate of Leiluia High School in Oahu, Hawaii, and is currently studying Astronomy at American Public University. He is employed by the military.
