Couple exchange vows

SIDNEY — Anne Schmiesing, of Sidney, and Randal Otte, of Maria Stein, were united in marriage, Jan. 2, 2016, at 2 p.m., in the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney.

The bride is the daughter of Mary and Harold Schmiesing, of Sidney. She is the granddaughter of the late Alvina and Clarence Riethman, and the late Clara and Edwin Schmiesing.

The bridegroom is the son of Kathleen and Charles Otte, of Maria Stein. He is the grandson of Mary Lou Schulze, of Russia, and the late Albert Schulze, and the late Irene and Louis Otte.

The Rev. Eugene Schnipke performed the ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ivory-colored lace, fit-and-flare gown featuring an illusion lace, bateau neckline; cap sleeves; a chapel train and a crystal-beaded belt. Her fingertip-length veil was accented with crystal-and-pearl trim. She carried a bouquet of white roses, calla lilies, baby’s breath and green berries.

Catherine Reichert served as her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Karla Frilling and Jodi Otte, both sisters of the bridegroom, Kateri Schmiesing and Agnes Schmiesing, both goddaughters of the bride, and Leah Thobe, goddaughter of the bridegroom.

Kevin Otte served as his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Chad Otte, Jeff Otte and Marc Otte, all brothers of the bridegroom, Jacob Schmiesing, godson of the bride, Peyton Otte, godson of the bridegroom, Matt Bertke and Corey Thobe. Bonaventure Reichert was honorary ring bearer.

A reception in St. Michael’s Hall in Fort Loramie followed the ceremony. The couple honeymooned in Hawaii.

The bride is a graduate of Lehman High School and Franciscan University of Steubenville. She is employed as a substitute teacher.

The bridegroom graduated from Marion Local High School and the Ohio State University. He is a self-employed farmer.
