Anna Council drops tax issue

ANNA — The Anna Village Council has dropped its consideration of revoking an income tax credit.

During its meeting, May 8, the council gave third reading to an ordinance that would have partially revoked the tax credit given for taxes paid to other municipalities. There was no motion to pass the ordinance, however, so it was dropped.

In other business, the council heard reports that:

• Camera installtions are complete at the village hall.

• The Planning Commission has met to discuss zoning of a property annexation on the south side of the village.

• The fire department had an opportunity to drive and evaluate three demo fire trucks.

• A liquor license has been approved for the Anna Homecoming festival and the police department will have three officers on duty during the event.

Parks and Recreation department listed upcoming events.

The council discussed Positive Pay and decided to move forward with the bank payment fraud deterrent program.

The Library Committee listed upcoming events and programs.

The council moved into executive session to discuss potential imminent litigation.
