GREENVILLE — Prairie Days, Darke County Parks’ largest event of the year, is in need of volunteers to help at the festival, Sept. 29 and 30 at Shawnee Prairie Preserve, 4267 state Route 502 W., Greenville.

The festival will include children’s crafts, horse and wagon rides, apple butter cooking demonstration, food and craft vendors, historical interpreters, a farm animal petting zoo and many other free, fun, and family-friendly activities.

Volunteers are needed to help with parking festival attendees; to assist in the children’s craft tent with dipping candles, making rag dolls and more; to help people get on and off the wagon for the horse and wagon ride; and to help squeeze juice from the sorghum press.
