SIDNEY — The Washington Township Trustees met in special session Jan. 4 to reorganize for the coming year.

Douglas K. Stangel was elected chairman, while William H. Huffman was elected vice chairman. Randy Schwable will oversee Beechwood Cemetery for the year.

Meetings for the year will be held the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The special closing session meeting will be held Dec. 28 at 7 p.m.

The trustees reviewed the zoning boards members’s terms of expiration. Both Bill Clark of the board of commission and Vonda Douglas of the board of appeals saw their terms expire on Dec. 31, 2015. Gary Vondenhuevel, zoning enforcement officer, said he will contact Douglas and stanfel will contact Clark. Vondenhuevel said Cheryl Spangler may need to be replaced on the board as she works evening hours and cannot attend some of the meetings. As of now, the positions are considered open and the terms would expire on Dec. 31, 2020.

All rates and fees will remain the same in 2016 as they were in 2015.

Glenda Stangel, clerk, presented the inventory list that will be submitted to the Shelby County Engineers office. One new item was added to the list, a 2015 Freightliner truck.

The next meeting will be held Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
