SIDNEY — The Sidney Noon Kiwanis Club has named Jessica Monnier its January 2019 Teen of the Month.

Monnier is a senior at Houston High School. She achieves a 4.0 GPA, ranking first in her class.

She is the daughter of Paul and Doris Monnier, of Houston.

Her academic activities, honors and awards include National Honor Society and National FFA Organization, Spanish Circle and Enviromental Club.

Her extracurricular, community activities and honors include Houston varsity sports, lettering in volleyball, basketball and softball; Shelby County 4-H Camp counselor; Scissors to Sheep 4-H. She received awards for Best Offensive Player, second team All SCAL and District 9 Coaches Team in basketball; showed the grand champion market heifer at the Shelby County Fair; earned a state FFA degree; SCAL honorable mention in softball and All SCAL honorable mention in volleyball and the Wildcat Award in softball.

Monnier plans to attend a four-year college to study athletic training or strength and conditioning.
