SIDNEY — Fairlawn High School seniors have an opportunity to receive a $2,000 scholarship created in memory of a Perry Township woman.

The Waneta Ammon Partington Scholarship Fund was established by the estate of her son, Gary, who passed away in 2018.

Any Fairlawn senior is eligible if they have a grade point average of no less than 3.0, will pursue a bachelor’s degree in the coming year, and complete the Community Foundation of Shelby County application.

Gary Partington’s Will directed that the name of the recipient should be randomly drawn from all eligible applicants. Community Foundation volunteers will conduct the random drawing.

This is the first year for the scholarship award.

Eligible students should complete the Community Foundation online scholarship application found on its website, at commfoun.com. In the Grants & Scholarships tab, select “Apply for a Scholarship” and open the link for the 2019 scholarship application.

The deadline for application submission is Feb. 14.
