American Heart Association to hold annual ‘Heart Ball’

DAYTON — The Miami Valley Division of the American Heart Association (AHA), the world’s largest voluntary health organization devoted to a world of longer, healthier lives, will host hundreds of local guests and honor those who lives have been affected by cardiovascular diseases at its 24th annual Heart Ball on Saturday, March 23, 2019, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Sinclair Community College David H. Ponitz Center, 444 W. Third St., in Dayton.

Guests will join event chair Vijai S. Tivakaran, D.O., FACOI, FACC, FASE, FASNC, FSCCT, RPVI, an invasive cardiologist with Kettering Health Network, to celebrate the extraordinary impact of the American Heart Association.

“This year’s Heart Ball will celebrate not only the outstanding wins of the American Heart Association but will also delight guests with the ‘Touchdowns for Heart’ theme,” Tivakaran said. “We encourage everyone to dress up in their favorite team colors and join us as we enjoy this premier event.”

The 2019 Dayton Heart Ball, “Touchdowns for Heart,” invites guests to a “tailgating, heart thumping, elegant evening on the gridiron,” in support of the AHA’s mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

There will be a gourmet meal, live and silent auctions, complimentary wine, commemorative photos, and live music by Kick ‘N Flava. Guests will have an opportunity to bid on exciting live and silent auction items and dance the night away to live entertainment. Black tie is optional and favorite team colors are encouraged.

Special guests include Bengals Super Bowl alumni players David Fulcher and Jim Breech, who were first-team in Super Bowl XVI and XXIII.

Tickets are $150 per person or $250 per person for a patron ticket that includes recognition in the program booklet. Proceeds support the association’s research, education, and advocacy programs throughout the Miami Valley, including research at Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine, fitness programs in area schools, CPR training, and public health advocacy campaigns.

The 2019 Heart Ball presenting sponsor is Kettering Physician Network. Other sponsors include, The Heart Institute of Dayton, Premier Health, Life Connection of Ohio, Messer Construction, Uptime Solutions, and CompuNet Clinical Laboratories.
