Anna Education Foundation awards $64k in scholarships

SIDNEY — The Anna Education Foundation held its 25th annual banquet on Thursday, April 11, at the Shelby Oaks, during which over $64,000 in scholarships was awarded to 36 recipients.

Over 275 attendees were present to recognize and honor Anna alumni, local leaders, and students.

The alumni speakers for the evening included Casie (Berning) Kitzmiller, class of 2001, and Randy Locker, class of 1973.

The 2019 Adult McRill Leadership Award was presented to Andy Counts, and the 2019 Student McRill Leadership Award was given to Isaac Dodds.

Recognition was given to out-going managing director, Dennis Raberding, for his 24 years of leadership to the Anna Education Foundation. He has served the foundation since its inception and was instrumental in the creation and growth of the foundation.

The Anna Education Foundation is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide financial assistance for enhanced educational and/or career opportunities to residents, employees, and current and former students of the Anna School District.

The AEF manages 30 separate and distinct scholarships with donor-specific criteria.
