Salem Township reorganizes for year

SIDNEY — At the recent reorganization meeting of Salem Township Trustees, Daniel Knoop was nominated as chairman for 2016 and Richard Herrick was elected vice chairman. The third trustee is Scott Platfoot.

James Hall will be the Zoning Officer for 2016 and he will be the representative for the Regional Planning Commission. The townships regular monthly meetings will remain on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m.

The Zoning Board members will remain the same as last year with Robert Allen accepting the vacant position on the Zoning Commission board. The chairman of the Zoning Board of Appeals is Dan Knasel and the chairman for the Zoning Commission is Chris Wooddell. The board members will continue to be paid $25 per meeting attended.

There were no changes to prices for Glen Cemetery or any zoning permits. Temporary appropriations were approved.

Representatives for the following boards were set: Richard Herrick was appointed to the Shelby County Health Board, Daniel Knoop was selected to be the representative for Shelby County Emergency Management Committee and Jeff Clark agreed to stay on as representative for Perry Port Salem Rescue District Board.
