FORT LORAMIE — The Fort Loramie American Legion Auxiliary Post 355 announced the date of the Poppy Drive during its April meeting. The drive will be held on Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.

The locations for the drive will be Casey’s General Store and Wagner’s IGA. Money raised by this drive will go toward the benefit of veterans.

Also discussed during the meeting was the idea to send care packages to present active duty military members. Details have yet to be finalized.

It was announced that the district meeting will be held in New Bremen on June 2, and will involve voting for officers. The outgoing district president is Ruth Schutz.

Discussion was also held regarding youth events, namely Halloween. The Legion will continue to discuss the planning of a campfire or costume judging contest for children.

Bar Bingo will again start in October and details will be finalized at a later date, corresponding with sporting events.
