NEW BREMEN — The New Bremen Parks Department invites all kids from age 3 to 15 to come to the 2015 “Hooked on Fishing” kids fishing derby.

This year’s fishing derby will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Industrial Park Pond on the west side of New Bremen off of Ohio 274. The fishing derby will be held on a Tuesday evening with registration beginning at 6 p.m. The starting time will be at 7 p.m. and ending at approximately 8:30 p.m.

There will be door prizes awarded and handouts for participants. There will be 3 age groups: 3-6, 7-10, and 11-15.

The prizes will be awarded as follows:

• In each age group there will be prizes awarded for the first three places for the most fish caught.

• Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish caught in each age group.

• There will also be two grand prizes, one for the biggest fish caught overall and one for the person who caught the most fish.

Keep in mind, there are lots of bluegill, crappie, perch, walleye, big catfish, and bass in the pond. Plan your fishing strategies to catch lots of fish or to go for one of the big ones.
