University of Findlay students receive honors at symposium

FINDLAY — Students at the University of Findlay recently participated in the annual Symposium for Scholarship and Creativity. Held on campus, undergraduate and graduate students were given the opportunity to share their research, creativity and professional learning experiences with the University and community. Many students received honors during the Symposium’s awards ceremony.

Local students include:

• Katie Ahrns, of Fort Loramie, received the Founder’s Daughter award, was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above. Ahrns presented “Oilers Serving Abroad.”

• Jenise Berning, of Minster, received the Traditional Program Occupational Therapy Fieldwork award.

• Grant Covault, of Sidney, was named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above.

• Jessica Dietz, of Botkins, was named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above.

• Trey Everet,t of Sidney, was named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above.

• Ann Frieders, of Quincy, was named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above, was named as a Dana Scholar and named to the lta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business.

• Haley Horstman, of New Knoxville, was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities.

• Lauren Jenkins, of Sidney, presented “OT’s & COTAs: Caseload Collaborations.”

• Emily Mikolajewski, of Piqua, was named as a graduating senior with a GPA of 3.6 or above.

• Joshua Robinson, of Anna, presented “Blanchard Valley Hospital Certification Tracking System” and was named a Choose Ohio First Scholars – Computer Science.

• Samantha Sayre, of Sidney, was named as a Kappa Delta Pi New Initiate, presented “UF Partnering with UF” and performed in the jazz ensemble.

• Marla Schroeder, of Sidney, presented “Deceptively Unhealthy Foods.”

• Andrew Toller, of Houston, presented “Assessment of the Efficacy of Hancock County SNAP-ED Program.”

• Garrett Westerbeck, of New Bremen, was named as a Dana Scholar and was named to the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society in Business.
