COLUMBUS — The Ohio State University has issued the list of students who earned degrees at commencement exercises on Aug. 6, 2017. The university awarded 1,538 degrees at the ceremony, including 277 doctoral, 19 professional, 400 masters, 735 bachelors, 105 associates and two certificates.

Two of those degrees went to Shelby County residents: Megan Fogt, of Anna, who earned a Master of Occupational Therapy, and Jenny Fair, of Sidney, who earned a Master of Arts.

In addition, the university has issued its dean’s list for summer 2017, with the names of students who have achieved high academic averages for their work. (Criteria for qualifying varies by college. It is usually based on the GPA for that specific term and the number of credit hours taken. Many colleges require a minimum of 12 graded credit hours with a 3.5 GPA or higher.)

Four Shelby County residents were named on this list. They were Rebecca Berning, Botkins; Nicole Marie Deloye, Russia; Bailey James Francis, Russia; and Katelyn Ruth Ann Larger, Sidney.
