Hayner Center plans mummy contest

TROY — America’s Next Top Toilet Paper Mummy Competition will be hosted by the Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main St., Troy, Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m.

Participation in this contest is free, but advance registration is required for contestants. There are a limited number of openings and registration is first come, first served. An adult must register contestants by calling 937-339-0457. The competition is open to children 7 to 12. Each participant may have one or two people help him or her design and get into the mummy costume. The mummy costumes must be designed from two rolls of toilet paper that will be supplied. Contestants should arrive at the Hayner Center to begin constructing their mummy costumes at 12:30 p.m. Judging will take place during a toilet paper mummy fashion show during the Boo Bash at 1:15 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the top three toilet paper mummies.

The Boo Bash is a free, family event that includes games, crafts, refreshments, a scavenger hunt, Halloween stories, a Monster Mash Dance, America’s Next Top Toilet Paper Mummy Fashion Show and magic and music with Aleksander the Magnificent. Boo Bash 2017 will take place Oct. 28 from 1 to 4 p.m.
