Basketball teams give back

FORT LORAMIE — On Sunday, Dec. 10, the Fort Loramie High School Boys and Girls basketball programs got together to do some shopping for the Salvation Army.

This is the fourth consecutive year the programs have been able to give back to the community and help spread holiday cheer. With the help of a $2,000 donation, both programs were able to go to Walmart and purchase items the Sidney Salvation Army needed most, including curling irons, hair dryers, toys, socks and underwear.

Boys Head Coach Corey Britton said, “It is great to see our seniors participate in such a generous gesture. We hope our players understand the importance of this activity.”

Carla Siegel, girls head coach, added, “It was a great experience for our program to join the boys in this awesome event. Teaching our young ladies the value of giving back to the community is a blessing.”
