Liberty Days Parade Committee accepting entries

FORT LORAMIE — The 2018 Fort Loramie Liberty Days festival will include a parade in honor of the event’s 50th anniversary.

The parade committee has announced that it is now accepting applications for entries for the parade.

Scheduled for June 30 in Fort Loramie, the parade will have a theme of “50 Years Celebrating Old Time Fourth of July.” Prizes for best theme, most patriotic and the mayor’s trophy will be awarded.

The parade route will begin at Fort Loramie High School, proceed west down Greenback Road to South Main Street/state Route 66, will then proceed north up South Main Street, turning east on Lane Street, past the festival grounds and ending shortly thereafter.

The 2018 Parade Committee seeks parade entries including floats, rolling stock, marching units, equine units, bands, emergency vehicles, farm machinery, antique vehicles, animals and comedy units from community organizations and businesses.
