SIDNEY — DayBreak Adult Day Services, in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Association, will be hosting an educational seminar Wednesday, May 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The seminar will be held at DayBreak Adult Services, 2901 Fair Road, Sidney.
Dementia Education: Communication & Behaviors will have two topics of conversation. Effective Communication Strategies will include learning to decode the verbal and behavioral messages delivered by someone with dementia and identify strategies to help a person connect and communicate.
The second portion of the seminar will be Understanding & Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors. Participants will learn how to understand behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers and get strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of dementia.
