DAYTON — Donors have a chance to “Be the Good” during the Easter holiday season by supporting the St. Remy’s Hall community blood drive, April 18, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 101 Remy St., Russia.

Everyone who registers to donate will receive the Community Blood Center’s “Believe There is Good in the World — Be The Good” T-shirt. Donors are encouraged to schedule appointments online at www.DonorTime.com or call 800-388-GIVE.

St. Remy Catholic Church is a main sponsor in the CBC rotation of large community blood drives across Shelby County. St. Remy’s hosts two blood drives per year in April and August. Last April’s blood drive saw a 15 percent increase in donor support. The August blood drive, traditionally larger than the April blood drive, increased five percent.

In 2016, the St. Remy’s blood drives totaled 379 donor registrations, 358 whole blood donations and 23 apheresis donations for 100 percent of the collection goals. CBC honored St. Remy’s Hall with the Platinum LifeSaving Ambassadors Club Award, the highest honor for blood drive excellence.
