SIDNEY — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Shelby and Darke County is seeking high school students to volunteer as mentors in its Big Buddies program.

Participants earn community service hours.

The Buddies program is a nine-month commitment for high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors who volunteer to work with and mentor elementary school students two times per month. During these meetings, the high school students, under the supervision of Big Brothers Big Sisters staff, work with one or two children on educational and recreational activities. This year’s program will focus on Seven Habits of Happy Kids.
