Civic band plans holiday concert

SIDNEY — The Sidney Civic Band’s Christmas concert will be Sunday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m., in the Connection Point Church of God, 1510 Campbell Road.

Admission is free.

“The Sidney Civic Band is delighted to bring our ‘Celebrating Life and Love’ concert to the community,” said Sidney Civic Band Conductor Phil Chilcote. “I’ve tried to pick music that celebrates life and birth and all of the wonderful things that are part of being humans who live, love and connect with each other through traditions and wonderful, amazing music.”

Musical selections will include “Adeste Fideles,” “A Child is Born,” “On a Winter’s Night,” “Here Comes Santa Claus,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Let There Be Peace On Earth” and “Sleigh Ride.” Gregory Ashe, tenor soloist, will perform “The Christmas Song,” “You Raise Me Up” and “A Grown Up Christmas List.”

There will be a special appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus who will pose for pictures with audience members. The Connection Point Church of God’s Relay for Life team will provide complementary cookies.
