SIDNEY — Local novelist Terry Pellman has released the second edition of his book, “Averton,” in both paperback from Amazon.com and as an ebook on Amazon Kindle.

The original version of “Averton” was released in 2009. It was referred to by Publishers Weekly as “….a gripping tale of domestic terrorism.”

The paperback edition of “Averton” is available locally at gallery 2:10, 684 Fair Road.

“Averton” is set in a fictional Ohio city of the same name. The plot concerns Kelly Hastings, chief of detectives for the Averton Police Department, who is ready to retire. But his plans are dashed when the town is subjected to a series of inexplicable bombings and murder.

The recently remarried police office must also nurture the safety and emotional health of his wife, a school principal rattled by the bombing deaths of several children from her school.

As the investigation moves forward, Hastings is forced to accept a number of unpleasant realities and face the most critical ethical challenges he has ever known.
