TROY — Troy-Hayner Cultural Center, 301 W. Main St., Troy, has announced that the theme for the 2017 Summer Art Day Camp there is “Out of This World.”

Children 6 to 12 will spend the week of the camp, working in many different media alongside art instructors Carol Bellas and Dawn Flory.

Class sizes are limited to ensure quality instruction time. The registration of children for the 2017 Summer Art Day Camps will be determined through a lottery-style registration to ensure the process is completely fair and equally accessible for every potential participant. The lottery will be at the center, May 18, at 7 p.m. Registrants should arrive early to complete the necessary forms. Latecomers will not be admitted after the lottery begins.

The weeks for this year’s Summer Art Day Camp are July 17-20, July 24-27, or July 31-Aug. 3. Each camp is Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children should take a packed lunch each day. Family and friends are invited to the day camper’s art exhibit reception on Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. The cost for Troy City School District residents and Friends of Hayner members is $85 per week. The cost for those who live out of district is $100. The fee includes instruction and all materials. Partial financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

Application forms for those who qualify for partial financial assistance will be available May 18. After registration day, telephone, mail, walk- in and website reservations will be taken if spaces are still available.
