Sock & Buskin announces ‘Joseph’ auditions

SIDNEY — Sock & Buskin Players has announced auditions for its summer musical, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”

Auditions will be June 3 in the Grace United Methodist Church, 9411 N. county Road 25A, Piqua. Performers 10 to 13 will audition from 10 a.m. to noon. Auditions for people 14 and older will be from 1 to 3 p.m.

Director Liz Maxson said auditioners should wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes (no flip-flops) and should prepare a song to sing. An accompanist and CD player will be provided for music. A cappella auditions are welcome, as well. All performers may do a cold reading and/or learn a dance as part of the audition.

Principle parts include the narrator, Joseph, Jacob, Joseph’s brothers: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Naphtali, Essachar, Asher, Dan, Zebulon, Gad, Benjamin and Judah, Potiphar and Mrs. Potiphar, the butler, the baker and Pharaoh.

There is also an abundance of ensemble parts.

The musical will be performed in the church on Aug. 11-12.
