VERSAILLES — Versailles Health Care Center (VHCC) was among thousands of long-term care providers in Ohio and across the nation that celebrated National Nursing Home Week, May 14-20.

The weeklong celebration honored residents, staff and volunteers for working and residing in long-term care facilities. This year’s theme was “The Spirit of America.” The goal in a long-term and post-acute skilled nursing facility is always person-centered team care in a harmonious, caring environment. This is “The Spirit of America.”

Special activities and events for the enjoyment of residents, families, staff, volunteers and the community included Minute to Win It, building challenge, corn hole, the Price Is Right, a door decorating contest and a scavenger hunt. Community members were encouraged to participate or volunteer, as well as tour the facility.

“We encouraged the community to visit our facility and participate in one of the special activities scheduled for our residents and staff. Throughout this week, we have lived the ‘the Spirit of America’ at Versailles Health Care Center and demonstrated the qualities of patience, kindness, harmony and good feelings in caring and respecting others,” said Kristy Earick, VHCC administrator.
