SIDNEY — Sock & Buskin Junior Players has announced that auditions for the summer show, “Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr.,” will be Monday, June 12, in the Historic Sidney Theatre, 120 W. Poplar St.

Thespians age 4 to 13 are invited to audition from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Director Sarah Liggett says everyone should wear comfortable shoes to dance in and be prepared to sing. She is being assisted by Carrie Blust and Laney Shaw.

Principle parts include Ariel, Prince Eric, Sebastian, Flounder, King Triton, Ursula and the Mersisters (Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Atina, Adella, and Allana); plus Flotsam and Jetsam, Scuttle, Gulls, Grimsby, Chef Louis, Carlotta and Pilot.

There is also an abundance of ensemble parts as tentacles, chefs, princesses, sailors, seahorses, sea chorus, sea creatures, merfolk, and lagoon animals.

The musical will be performed in the theater, Aug. 18-19.
