NEW BREMEN — Lock One Community Arts has opened season ticket sales for its 2017-2018 series of “Delightful Afternoons,” performances in the James F. Dicke Auditorium at New Bremen High School.

All performances will begin at 3 p.m.

The season will open Oct. 8 with multi-Grammy nominee, Broadway and recording artist Maureen McGovern. Termed “a world-class vocal artist” by the L.A. Times, McGovern is sure to thrill the audience with a performance of a quality rarely accessible in smaller venues.

Cadence, an a cappella men’s quartet, will perform Nov. 12.

On Dec. 2, it’s “CSI: Bethlehem.” The author of “Late Nite Catechism” sends Sister to retell the story of the Nativity in an hilarious holiday production. While creating a living nativity like none ever seen, Sister will solve the mystery of whatever happened to the Magi’s gold.

A concert by a saxophone sextet, the Moanin’ Frogs, will be March 11, 2018. This group demonstrates the full line of saxophones, which gives the Frogs a big, symphonic sound and the ability to perform everything from vaudeville highlights to entire orchestral works with just six players.

Closing the season April 8 will be the Indianapolis Children’s Choir. The ICC has performed internationally with artists ranging from the Moscow Chamber Orchestra to Celine Dion.

The season prices are $100 for adults and $50 for students. Tickets can be purchased at 567-356-2048. Single tickets will go on sale Aug. 16.

The Moanin’ Frogs will perform in New Bremen in March as part of the Lock One Community Arts Delightful Afternoons season.
