SIDNEY — Friday, June 30, at 7 p.m., on the courtsquare, the Sidney Civic Band will present its annual Patriotic Concert.

“Wonderful pieces of music have been composed for over 200 years that capture the beauty of our land, our country and our military,” said Sidney Civic Band Conductor Phil Chilcote. “On Friday, we will have a concert that celebrates all of these types of music, honoring this great country and it’s history.”

Some of the selections include “Fanfare for the Capitol Steps,” “Torch of Liberty,” “The Trumpeter’s Lullaby,” featuring soloist Jon Millhouse, “Americans We” and “National Emblem March.”

“This is usually a highly attended concert,” said Chilcote, “so make sure you are downtown in time to find your favorite place on the square.”

Attendees should take lawn chairs. In case of rain, the concert will be in the Connection Point Church of God, 1510 Campbell Road, Sidney. The concert is free.
