DAYTON — In conjunction with the 2018 appearance of the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team (WWAST) at Ron Nischwitz Stadium at Wright State University, Oct. 13, members of Gold Star Families are invited to join in a “Salute to Gold Star Families.”

This respectful tribute by the WWAST and event hosts, WSU’s Veteran & Military Center, Honor Flight-Dayton, Fisher Nightingale Houses and the Dayton VA Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m., between the two exhibition games played by the Wounded Warrior amputees against local able-bodied softball all-stars from Wright Patterson Air Force Base and first responders at 9 a.m. and the Dayton Legends Softball Club at 2 p.m.

This is the third year that the Greater Dayton area is being visited by the WWAST to help raise funds for numerous veteran-based causes. To learn more about the games or the “Salute to Gold Star Families,” email [email protected].
