Dorothy Love to host quilting bee

SIDNEY — The Ohio Living Dorothy Love Knotters, a quilting club, has announced its second annual Community Quilt Projecct for Children in Need.

The Knotters will host a public quilting bee, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Amos Community Center at Dorothy Love, 3003 W. Cisco Road.

All interested people are invited to participate. Previous quilting experience is not necessary. All skill levels will be welcomed to iron, cut, piece, sew and knot quilts that will be delivered to Quilts of Compassion of Toledo for delivery to children in storm-ravaged areas.

In 2017, 53 volunteers gave 169 hours of service and completed 27 quilts, which were sent to Hurricane Harvey victims in Beaumont, Texas.

Participants are asked to take rotary cutters, mats, rulers and sewing machines, if they have them.
