HUBER HEIGHTS — Fathom Events, National Theatre Live and BY Experience will present “Frankenstein,” first captured live in 2011 from the National Theatre stage in London, in cinemas for a two-night event, Oct. 22 and 29.

Area theaters who will show “Frankenstein” include Huber Heights 16, 7737 Wayne Town Blvd., Huber Heights; Regal Fairfield Commons 20, 2651 Fairfield Commons, Beavercreek; and Dayton South 16, 195 Mall Woods Drive, West Carrollton.

This thrilling, sold-out production became an international sensation, experienced to date by more than half a million people in cinemas around the world.

“Frankenstein” is a live stage production captured in high-definition and directed by Academy Award-winner Danny Boyle. Frankenstein features Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller alternating between the roles of Victor Frankenstein and his Creation.

Oct. 22 will feature Cumberbatch as the Creature and Oct. 29 will feature Miller as the Creature — a chance for audiences to see both versions.

The original production was a sell-out hit at the National Theatre in 2011 and has since become an international sensation.

Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered Creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Urgent concerns of scientific responsibility, parental neglect, cognitive development and the nature of good and evil are embedded within this thrilling and deeply disturbing classic gothic tale.
