SIDNEY — Gary J. Carter, magistrate of the Shelby County Common Pleas Court, recently participated in the Sandwich Run, a 5K run/1 mile walk at the annual fall convention of the Ohio Association of Magistrates in Columbus.

Carter joined more than 30 other magistrates from all over Ohio in raising funds to benefit PBJ Connections, a Columbus-based charitable organization. PBJ Connections provides diagnostic assessments and services to children with mental health and behavioral challenges, using equine-assisted psychotherapy and other innovative behavioral health services. This year’s event was at Sharon Woods Metropark, and the magistrates raised more than $1,300 for their efforts.
