Eastern Star meets in Sandusky

SANDUSKY — The annual meeting of Ohio Grand Chapter Order of Eastern Star was Sept. 28 to 30, at Kalahari Resorts in Sandusky.

2018 Worthy Grand Matron Sandie Herman and Worthy Grand Patron David Sexton opened the Friday night session with the introductions of General Grand Chapter committee members, worthy grand matrons and worthy grand patrons of other jurisdictions, as well as past grand matrons and past grand patrons of other jurisdictions, past grand matrons and past grand patrons of Ohio, Most Worshipful Grand Master of F. & A.M. of Ohio, presiding officers of Grand Masonic bodies and others.

The Saturday session began with the Ohio Eastern Star Home meeting and then proceeded into the election of officers for the 2019 Grand Chapter Session. Legislation was voted on and committee reports were made. Ending the evening was a banquet prepared and served by the Kalahari staff.

A church service began the Sunday session with the Rev. Joe Royer delivering the message. The drill created by Chrissy Willeke was executed by worthy matrons, worthy patrons and grand representatives. Also the families of the elected worthy grand matron and worthy grand patron participated. Following the drill, the 2019 grand officers were installed. During the installation, Pleiades No. 298 Debby (Barker) Pitts was appointed grand warder of the Ohio Grand Chapter. Connie Snider, also from Pleiades Chapter, was appointed deputy grand matron; Susan (Adams) Ellis, Fort Black No. 336 was appointed charities director and Jenna Geuy, Stokes No. 543, was appointed to out of state registration.
