SIDNEY — The Rainbow Gardeners of Shelby County will host their annual Christmas Flower Show, Dec. 11, from 1 to 4 p.m., in the Amos Memorial Public Library’s Community Room, 230 E. North St.

Featured at this year’s show will be floral arrangements exhibited by the club’s members in 10 categories following the theme, “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

Marian Moeckel, an Ohio Association of Garden Clubs judge, will award first-, second- and third-place ribbons in each category. From among the first-place winners, Moeckel will select one arrangement for the Best in Show award.

Visitors to the show will also select winners in each category as well as their picks for the People’s Choice award. Ballots will be distributed, votes will be tabulated and one lucky voter will receive a holiday basket door prize. The door prize winner need not be present at the drawing following the show.

For those interested in learning more about flower arranging, Moeckel will discuss the arrangements in terms of structure, choice of materials and ways of improving designs. Visitors will be able to ask questions and take photos of their favorite arrangements.

In addition to the flower show, club members will staff a Christmas boutique with items for sale, including baked goods and candies, handmade cards, ornaments, decorations, tabletop trees and unique gifts.

Refreshments provided by the library will be available throughout the afternoon. This show is free and open to the public.
