SIDNEY — The Shelby County Master Gardeners’ Spring Gardening Series will feature five programs, each one from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. in the Community Meeting Room at the Amos Memorial Public Library, 230 E. North St.,

There is no charge for any of the programs, and no need to register in advance. Free refreshments and free handouts will be available at each program.

Topics are as follows:

Feb. 19: “Oh Say Can You Seed?” Start your own plants from seed. Save money and grow healthy plants.

March 19: “What’s All the Dirt?” Soil isn’t just dirt. Test your soil to see what plants really need.

April 16: “Green, Green Grass of Home.” Why pay professionals to treat your lawn when you can do a better job for less money?

May 21: “Made in the Shade.” Brighten up those shady spots with color and low maintenance.

June 18: “How the Pest Was Won!” Keep those four-legged critters out of your yard.
