80th birthday celebration set

SIDNEY — The children of Dorothy Clayton will be hosting an open house to celebrate her 80th birthday on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the IUTIS Hall in Sidney, Ohio.

Dorothy L. (Harpest) Clayton was born in Auglaize County on Nov. 9, 1937. She is the fifth of six children born to the late Thomas R. and Louella B. (O’Brien) Harpest, of Maplewood, Ohio.

On Feb. 23, 1957, Dorothy married Kenneth L. Clayton and they had three children, Matt, Julie, and Lyra. Dorothy was a homemaker and also worked 19 years at Copeland Corp. in Sidney. She later became a florist co-owning and operating a greenhouse and flower shop in Jackson Center for a number of years before retirement.

The family notes gifts are not required but bring a special memory or two along with a smile and a hug to help celebrate her 80th birthday.

The IUTIS Hall is located at 2329 Wapakoneta Ave., Sidney.
