Tickets on sale for Soil and Water banquet

SIDNEY — The Shelby Soil and Water Conservation District’s 71st annual meeting and banquet will be Dec. 7, in St. Michael’s Hall in Fort Loramie.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 30.

A two-meat buffet with all the trimmings, including dessert, will be served at 7 p.m. Voting for the election of one board of supervisor position will take place from 6:30 p.m. until 7:15 p.m.

John Geise and John Kipp are running for one open seat on the Board of Supervisors. The person elected will serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2018.

This year’s banquet will feature WHIO reporter Steve Baker, who will share some of the more interesting stories he has covered in his career.

After dinner, the Outstanding Cooperator of the Year and Outstanding Conservation Educator of the Year will be introduced. The district staff will share a presentation about the past year’s activities and accomplishments.

Tickets are on sale at $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Call 492-6520, ext. 3, to purchase tickets.
