SIDNEY — The Shelby County Junior Leaders, a 4-H club that focuses on leadership and service, will host a fundraiser at the Shelby County Recycling Center, Saturday, Jan. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

Members of the club will be available to unload cars and trucks of recyclable materials, including newspapers, magazines, boxes, cans and plastics.

The club is also accepting items to be donated to the Blue Star Moms for care packages to be sent to active military personnel. Items being collected include beef jerky; individual packages of cookies, crackers or snacks; personal care items and hand-held games or playing cards. All items must be new and in their original packaging. These items can be taken to the Recycling Center, Saturday, Jan. 20, or to the Shelby County Extension Office, 810 Fair Road, by Jan. 27.
