BOTKINS — Konnor Burmeister, 16, of Botkins, recently obtained his Eagle Scout Award.

Burmeister is a member of Boy Scout Troop 98. For his project he chose to make a 92-foot paved walkway from Saint Paul Lutheran Church to the church’s parsonage.

With the help of other scouts, church members, and his family, the walkway was started in July 2014 and finished in August 2014.

Burmeister had his Eagle Board review in summer 2015 and shortly afterward was notified he would become an Eagle Scout. His fellow Scouts, family, friends, and church members celebrated this at the end of September in an Eagle Scout Court of Honor at Saint Paul.

Burmeister started scouting in first grade as a Tiger Scout, then a Wolf, then a Bear, finally a Webelo and earned his Arrow of Light. Burmeister is currently a junior at Botkins High School where he is active in cross country, track, and academia team. He has plans of potentially becoming a high school history teacher in the future.
