New Bremen teen killed in car crash

CRIDERSVILLE — A two-vehicle crash claimed the life of a New Bremen teenager Thursday night, Nov. 12.

Troy M. Marker, 18, of New Bremen, died Friday at St. Rita’s Medical Center of injuries he sustained in the accident.

According to the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, Marker was westbound on Buckland-Holden Road, just south of Cridersville, when he failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle entered County Road 25A and struck a vehicle driven by Dale Kleman, 51, of Cridersville. Kleman was traveling northbound on County Road 25A at the time of the accident.

Marker and a female passenger in his vehicle sustained incapacitating injuries and were transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima, by the Cridersville EMS. Kleman was transported to St. Rita’s by the Wapakoneta Rescue Squad.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The accident remains under investigation.

Marker was a senior at New Bremen High School. His obituary appears in today’s newspaper.

Marker is the second Auglaize County teenager to die in a car crash in November. On Nov. 8, Noah I. Weber, 16, of Buckland, was killed in a one-vehicle accident on St. Marys River Road, south of Glynwood Road in St. Marys. He was a passenger in a pickup truck that crashed into a group of trees, went down an embankment and overturned.

Both crashes remain under investigation by the Ohio Highway Patrol.
