URBANA — State Rep. Nino Vitale. R-Urbana, 85th District, has announced he will run for a second term in 2016. Vitale filed his petitions with the Champaign County Board of Election Monday. The public announcement was made at a Logan County Town Hall Forum and was met with applause from the packed room.

“I ran as a Christian Constitutional Conservative and believe I have upheld the values of limited and local government in my first term. I am trying to be the kind of elected official that does what he told the voters he would do. Trust in government is at an all-time low and I think it’s important to say what you intend to do, and then do it,” said Vitale.

Lowering taxes, creating opportunity, protecting citizens’ freedom, and protecting human life are of utmost importance, according to Vitale. He added that faith and family are foundational for our culture and said he will continue to look for ways to strengthen what he calls the “cornerstone of our society.”

Nino Vitale is a private business person with more than 24 years of experience building companies and creating jobs. Vitale has worked for Apple Computer, Frigidaire Appliances, Wendy’s International and now works at his family’s manufacturing business in Urbana where they make heavy vehicle brake parts.

Vitale and his wife, Lilli Johnson Vitale, have been married 17 years and have five sons. Vitale has served on the Champaign County Right to Life board, is an NRA and Concealed Carry Instructor, and has taken Constitution classes from Hillsdale College. He was a member of the Ohio State marching band and a dean’s list MBA graduate. He and his family have also served as a licensed foster family.

Vitale’s website can be viewed at www.VoteVitale.com . Ohio’s 85th House District includes all of Champaign, most of Logan, and half of Shelby County.
