Christmas in the Village Dec. 6

JACKSON CENTER — Jackson Center’s annual holiday celebration, Christmas in the Village, will begin at 5 p.m., Dec. 6.

Doors of the Jackson Center Methodist Church will open at 4:30 p.m. for a 5 p.m. free community meal there. Serving will continue until 7 p.m. The menu includes chili, cheesy potato soup, chicken noodle soup, hot dogs, salads, relishes, cold meat and cheeses and desserts.

Caroling, the Christmas tree-lighting and Santa’s arrival take place at 5:30 p.m.

At the firehouse, from 6 to 8 p.m., attendees can enjoy cookies and hot cocoa, children’s crafts, reindeer food and horse-drawn wagon rides. Pictures with Santa can be taken. Parents should take their own cameras.

There will be a collection of canned goods for the Fish Pond food pantry. Stationery will be available for children to write to Santa. They can mail their letters at the firehouse.

A wooden nativity with live animals will be set up in the parking lot behind the bank. The Jackson Center Memorial Library will sponsor a fish pond.
