SIDNEY — Members of the Shelby County Junior Fairboard are gearing up for a county-wide rummage sale Saturday, Aug. 18, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the beige building at the fairgrounds.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to pay for Junior Fair expenses and improve Junior Fair facilities.

Aluminum cans will also be collected during the sale to benefit SCARF animal rescue.

The group is looking for people to donate items for the sale and to volunteer time working at the sale.

Donations from the public are welcome. Drop-offs will be accepted on Aug. 15, 16 and 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the fairgrounds. New or clean, gently-used items will be accepted. All items remaining after the sale will be donated to a local charity.

Items requested for the sale include clothes, baby gear, toys, kitchenware, tools, fishing, hunting and camping items, furniture, antiques, appliances, household items and electronics.
