Botkins BOE wraps up 2015

BOTKINS — The Botkins Board of Education met for the last time in 2015 Wednesday night.

A big item the board is working on is getting lighting for the parking lot next to the sports complex. They are gathering bids and wanting to get light installed as soon as possible.

Also at the meeting, the board established a fund in their account for the industrial technology program. They also approved the Washington D.C. trip for the Class of 2021 from Oct. 18 to 23, 2016.

The board accepted a donation from Troy Basketball Parents in the amount of $550 to be used for the Jeff Roberts Memorial Scholarship.

They also approved purchase orders in the amount of $5,700 for master maintenance and $3,584 for the laundry detergent fundraiser.

The board approved the treasurer’s report by fund, the investment report, and cash balance report as presented.

They set the rate at minimum wage for those working the gate and time clock at basketball games.

The first meeting of the board in 2016 will be Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. Their reorganization meeting will be prior to the regular meeting at 6:45 p.m.
